TAKIN' IT TO THE STREET

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compasssion, kindness, humility, gentlenesss and patience.  COLOSSIANS 3:12

 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in His presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything. 1JOHN 3:18-20

    

  The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

 Sing to the Lord! Give praise to the Lord! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked.
  JEREMIAH 20:13

  



 

      Repent, then and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that
      times of refreshing may come from the Lord.   ACTS 3:19

    

     For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.
     ACTS 4:20

    

    Then Peter began to speak: I now realize how true it is that God
    does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who
    fear Him and do what is right.  ACTS 10:34-35

   

    I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign
    Lord. I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured
    and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will
    shepherd the flock with justice.     EZEKIEL 34:15-16

   

   I will send down showers in season, there will be showers of
   blessing. The trees of the field will yield their fruit and the ground
   will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land. They will
   know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke and
   rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them.
   EZEKIEL 34:26-27

     Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God,
     keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who
     love Him and keep His commands.   DEUTERONOMY 7:9

   

    Oh that their hearts would be inclined to fear Me and keep all My commands
    always, so that it might go well with then and their children forever!
     DEUTERONOMY 5:29

    

     But Christ is faithful as a son over God's house. And we are His house, 
     if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast. 
     HEBREWS 3:6 
 
    

     For the word of God is living and active. Sharpers than any double-edged
     sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; 
     it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  HEBREWS 4:12

      

      Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight
      in them.  PSALM 111:2

    

     Glorious and majestic are His deeds, and His righteousness endures forever.
     PSALM 111:3

   

    He has caused His wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and
    compassionate.  PSALM 111:4

   

    May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. 
    PSALM 115:15
 
   

    But because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. Therefore
    He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because
    He always lives to intercede for them.  HEBREWS 7:24-25

   

    Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may
    receive the mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. 
     HEBREWS 4:16

     I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in Me will do the same works I have done and even
     greater, because I am going to be with the Father.  JOHN 14:12

   

   The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news
   to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of
   sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. 
     LUKE 4:18-19


    

    Coming in all the way from Austria, getting in at 2:00am and coming out to
    serve others at 9:30 in the morning in Tacoma Washington.

    Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.   MATTHEW 5:8 

  

    Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.   MATTHEW 5:7 

   

    Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
     MATTHEW 5:6

   

    Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  MATTHEW 5:3

  

   In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good
   deeds and praise your Father in heaven.  MATTHEW 5:16

  

     You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  MATTHEW 5:14

   


   The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness. He is
   patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
   2 PETER 3:9

     Another beautiful day on the streets of Tacoma!
 
  

   When we go out to the streets of Tacoma, we share the hope and peace that we have in Jesus Christ.

  

  They replied, "What does God want us to do?" Jesus told them, "this is
  what God wants you to do believe in the one he has sent."    JOHN 6:28-29 

 

  As Christians, we need to be strong enough in our faith to accept the doubts of
  others. 

 

   Let them all praise the name of the Lord. For His name is very great, His
   glory towers over the earth and heaven!   PSALM 148:13

 

  Faith brings joy!

  Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have
   peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
  Because of our faith, Chirst has brought us into this place of highest
  privilege where we now stand and we confidently and joyfully look forward
  to sharing God's glory.    ROMANS 5:1-2

 

  See how very much our heavenly Father loves us, for He allows us to be called
  His children, and we really are! But the people of this world don't know God, so 
  they don't understand that we are His children.  1 JOHN 3:1

 

  Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone
  who loves is born of God and knows God.  1 JOHN 4:7

 

  This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that He loved us and 
  sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.   1 JOHN 4:10 

 

  And we can be confident that He will listen to us whenever we ask Him for 
  anything in line with His will. And if we know He is listening when we make our 
  requests, we can be sure that He will give us what we ask for.   1 JOHN 5:14-15 

      As we quickly move into the summer weather, we pray that the street community is protected from the heat.
      We were blessed with baseball caps and sunscreen to help them with sun protection. We also remind people to 
      stay in the shade as much as possible. When someone has a home or a room and they get over heated, they can
      easily get a cup of water and rest. When your on the streets there is very few places to get water or rest. 

   

   I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit
   of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.   ISAIAH 57:15

  

   And foreigners who bind themselves to the Lord to serve Him, to love the name of the Lord, and
   to worship Him, all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to My
   covenant - these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in My house of prayer.
   ISAIAH 56:6-7

  

   I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will guide him and restore comfort to him, creating praise on the lips
   of the mourners in Israel. Peace, peace, to those far and near, says the Lord. "And I will heal them."
   ISAIAH 57:18-19

  

  If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend
   yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness,
   and your night will become like the noonday.  ISAIAH 58:9-10

  

    The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen
    your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.   ISAIAH 58:11

   Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom.
   PSALM 145:3

  

  Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level
  ground.   PSALM 143:10

 

   I pour out my complaint before him; before him I tell my trouble. When my spirit
  grows faint within me, it is you who know my way. In the path where I walk
  men have hidden a snare for me.   PSALM 142:3 

 

  Look to my right and see; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge;
  no one cares for my life. I cry to you, O Lord; I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the
  land of the living."   PSALM 142:5 

 

  Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name. Then the righteous will gather
  about me because of your goodness to me.  PSALM 142:7 

 

  O Lord, what is man that you care for him, the son of man that you think of him?
  PSALM 144:3

   Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

  For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

  The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.    2 CORINTHIANS 15:56

  

  Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that you labor in the Lord is not in vain.  2 CORINTHIANS 15:58

 

   Then he said to his servants, "The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find."   MATTHEW 22:8-9

 

   To the Lord your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it.
   DEUTERONOMY 10:14

  

  Yet the Lord set his affection on your forefathers and loved them, and He chose you, their descendants, above all the nations, as it is today.   DEUTERONOMY 10:15 

  

 He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.
   DUETERONOMY 10:18

  

   For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God , mighty and awesome, who shows no paritality and accepts no bribes.    DUETERONOMY 10:17

 

   Fear the Lord your God and serve him. Hold fast to Him and take your oaths in His name. He is your praise; He is our God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.
     DUETERONOMY 10:20-21

  

   And now, O Israel what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul, and to observe the Lord's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?   DUETERONOMY 10:1 

 
    The streets of Tacoma can be a lonely place.
  
  

    I say to God my Rock, "Why have you forgotten me? why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?"
    PSALM 42:9

  

  My bones suffer mortal agony as my foes taunt me, saying all day long, "Where is your God?"
  PSALM 42:10

 

  Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.  PSALM 42:11

 

  But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, " The Lord be exalted!"  PSALM 40:16

 

  The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.  2 TIMOTHY 4:18
